I WENT ON  11-26-13 TO VISIT THE PRISONER, JOSE SANTOS FLORES, WHO RECEIVED A LIFE SENTENCE... I WAS VERY PREPARED TO LET HIM KNOW ABOUT MY ANGEL SONS... I HAD PLENTY OF PICTURES, INFO ON U BOTH AS ORGAN DONORS, THE CRIME SCENE & 75 QUESTIONS TO ASK HIM ABOUT HIS LIFE & WHY DID THE DRIVE-BY HAPPEN!!! I RECIEVED SEVERAL ANSWERS... AT TIMES, HIS EYES WERE RED OR MAYBE A TEARDROP WAS FALLING... HE APOLOGIZED FOR YOUR MURDERS BUT KNEW IT WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH OR THAT ANYTHING HE COULD SAY WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT OR BRING YOU BOTH BACK HOME!!! HE SAID HE DID NOT KILL YOU BOTH BUT ACKNOWLEDGED THAT HE WAS THERE AND AS GUILTY!!! HE DID DO SOME SHOOTING, HE ADMITTED...

I EXPECTED TO FIND SOMEONE TOUGH & MEAN BUT TO THE CONTRARY, HE WAS VERY KIND AND PROFESSIONAL DURING THE INTERVIEW... HE HAS BEEN THERE NOW FOR 15 1/2 YRS & WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE WHEN HE TURNS 55 YRS... THAT IS IF HE SURVIVES UNTIL THEN...

I KNOW I WILL NOT BE AROUND WHEN THAT HAPPENS... BUT I KNOW JUSTICE WILL BE DONE WHEN HE STANDS IN FRONT OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!!! 

I WAS TOLD BY THE CRIME VICTIMS COUNSELOR THAT HE ALMOST AT THE LAST MINUTE WANTED TO CANCEL THE MEETING...

ADRIAN & MIKEY, MY ANGEL SONS, HE WAS MOVED AT HIS REQUEST SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO DRIVE SO FAR WHERE HE WAS LOCATED WHICH IS THE UPPER LEFT TIP OF TEXAS... 

YOU BOTH WILL NOT BELIEVE THAT IT STARTED SNOWING ANGEL FLURRIES IN HUNTSVILLE, TX WHEN I ARRIVED FOR THE MEETING!!! I KNOW IT WAS A SIGN THAT YOU BOTH WERE THERE WITH ME!!!

I CAME OUT OF THAT MEETING WITH A LOAD LIFTED FROM MY CHEST!!! MY PURPOSE WAS ACCOMPLISHED!!!

NOW, IF IT EVER HAPPENS, I WANT TO MEET WITH JUAN CARLOS ALVAREZ WHO IS ON DEATH ROW!!! I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR 3 YEARS TO MEET WITH HIM!!! HE HAS AGREED BUT HIS ATTORNEY WHO IS IN GEORGIA REFUSES TO COMMUNICATE WITH AUSTIN VICTIMS OF CRIME AND ME!!! YES, I HAVE CALLED HIM BUT NO RESPONSE!!!

GOD IS GOOD & HOPEFULLY IT WILL HAPPEN SOON!!!

Born in on Adrian May 2, 1978 & Mikey February 22, 1982.

It was a beautiful Saturday evening when Adrian had been invited to a friend's birthday party. Adrian was working with my brother and had just bought him a new car not even 2 weeks before 06-06-98. He had even given me 1/2 of his car payment before it was due. My husband invited Adrian to stay home and wait to enjoy some meat he was going to barbecue. The invitation was tempting but Adrian had a new car sitting outside and the invitation to the birthday party. He asked for a rain check for another day to stay home with us.

Adrian was ready to leave and as usual we gave each other the traditional hug, kiss and I LOVE YOU! We were walking outside when Mikey came running behind us and said he was going with Adrian. Adrian promised to have him home by 10:00 pm. Naturally, Mikey wanted to go along just in case Adrian might let him drive the new car.

It was around 9:00 pm when I received the phone call from Adrian's friend's mother. She was hysterical and was telling me that they were all on the ground. I asked what happened and she said these cars passed by and started shooting. Most of the young men were outside and near the road where the cars passed by. My sons had just arrived and were the closest to the road. 8 young men were shot and my 2 sons were the only ones who died. Adrian was hit in the back of the head by a bullet that ricocheted off a wall. Mikey was shot four times and ran as soon as the shooting started so he bled to death at the scene of the party. The police officer that arrived and spoke to Adrian briefly said that Adrian had asked for Mikey because if anything happened to him he knew I would be mad. The police officer told Adrian everything was okay and that an ambulance was on the way. Minutes later Adrian was brain dead but at least he thought his brother was okay. At the hospital, tests were performed on Adrian and he was declared brain dead. Adrian had noted on his driver's license that he was an organ donor. He knew I wanted to do the same so he had signed up as well. We donated all of Adrian's organs except the eyes because my husband wanted him to see his way to heaven. Mikey was able to donate the duramatter that covers the brain to help patients with brian cancer or tumors. It was and still is very painful to be without Adrian and Mikey. Matthew keeps us going when the thoughts occur regarding our tragic loss. GOD is good even in times of tragedy because financially we did not know how we were going pay for 2 funerals. A pastor my sister knew came to pray for us and asked us if we had the funeral arrangements prepared. I told him no because of the financial situation and he said not to worry that the church would handle everything!

We keep the communication open between us and the heart recipient. He is doing very well. He is the only one out of all the donor recipients that contacted us. Adrian saved very many lives. A tragedy for us but hope and a future for many lives.Some of the shooters were caught not all. One received the death penalty and is still on death row. 2 received life sentences. 1 received 60 yrears and another one 45 years. One of their own plea bargained and recieved 20 years and was out in 3 years. He was only 16 years old at the time. Not all of the shooters were caught but one day there JUDGEMENT will be done on that special day!

These same individuals had been killing and doing these shootings for a while but thank GOD were caught to save pain for other families.

LIFE still goes on and Adrian and Mikey still LIVE on in our hearts and minds with all the memories they left us with! It has now been 11 1/2 years but feels like yesterday and sometimes an eternity.

I am thankful to GOD that I had Adrian for 20 years and Mikey for 16 years but I wish I could have had them outlive me and my husband. Thank GOD we have Matthew! Matthew is now 20 years old. He just had a birthday recently! My husband and I have been married for 32 years and I was told it wouldn't last because of the guilt and anger and blame we would have against each other! But they were wrong and again I repeat myself, GOD is GOOD!

Adrian and Mikey will forever live on in our LIVES!!!
